A Blast from the Past: The Four Heavenly Kings

「The Four Heavenly Kings」 were the new influence during the early '90s in HK's music industry. Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, and Aaron Kwok were, no doubt, the most favourite singers. According to seniority in the business, Andy was the first to enter of the four. Andy was enrolled in 1981's TVB 10th Acting Class, but it wasn't until 1985 that he first landed his first music contract. Jacky entered the music industry two years prior to Leon. Jacky was the National Singing Champion in 1984, whereas Leon was the second runner-up of TVB 5th New Talent Singing Awards in 1986. Out of the four, Aaron was the latest to rise. He first gained fame in Taiwan and later returned to HK to plant his footsteps.

Jacky is known for his vociferous singing talents, and Aaron is dubbed as "The Dancing King" for his onstage dancing displays. As for Andy and Leon, they both have the most formidable fan group. That is why, in the past, their fans had encountered conflicts while supporting their idols.

「The Four Heavenly Kings」 made the '90s a 'fiery red' decade in the music industry; however, the four of them actually resisted the title. Not only do the four of them triumph HK's music industry, they also have been making their marks in the movie industry by winning 'Best Actor' awards. With their fame and success, it is very difficult to find any other four (in today's HK entertainment business) to be in comparison. 「The Four Heavenly Kings」 is truly one of a kind.

四大天王影帝命

劉德華是四大天王中，最早嘗到影帝滋味。他於2000年憑電影《暗戰》贏得第19屆電影金像獎「最佳男主角」，2004年更分別憑《大隻佬》及《無間道3 終極無間》贏得第23屆香港電影金像獎及第41屆金馬獎「最佳男主角」，圓了他一年內連奪港台兩大電影盛事影帝的心願。

2002年，張學友憑《男人四十》開齋，奪得第4屆印度新德里亞洲電影節「最佳男主角」，揚威海外。黎明亦於同年憑《三更》首度奪得金馬獎「最佳男主角」。

郭富城於2006年急起直追，於05年憑《三岔口》首度於金馬獎稱帝，06再度憑《父子》蟬聯金馬獎影帝。
