Last year, it was rumoured that Charmaine Sheh would be returning to [TVB] to film the new TVB series "The QUEEN of News" produced by Chung Shu Kai, collaborating with old partner Tavia Yeung again after "Beyond the Realm of Conscience". However, the cast list was recently leaked on social media, and apart from Charmaine, the male lead is Kenneth Ma, but the rumoured Tavia has no part and has been changed to Samantha Ko and Regina Ho; Eric Tang and former BOP member Lincoln Hui are also among the cast members. It is said that Tavia rejected the performance because the script was not suitable. She responded to on.cc, "Did contact me, but don't know the details after that...would leave it to my manager to discuss. If the role is right, would definitely have a chance to collaborate. Even if [we] cannot collaborate this time, there's also a chance next time". Charmaine said in an interview with on.cc, "After 'Return of the Cuckoo', collaborating with Director (now Producer) Chung Shu Kai again. After looking at the script, like it very much. Tentatively scheduled to start filming in March. The script is great, so there will certainly be sparks with the actors!"
Regarding the opportunity to work with Charmaine, Regina said, "Yes, I did hear the producer talk about things about the story and the costume, but the actual details are unknown. However, very happy to able to work with the seniors, especially Charmaine because [I] really never thought that there would be a chance. This opportunity is really a once in a lifetime, so when I received the news, was really happy and excited. I will work hard on doing well on the role".
Kenneth said, "The company hasn't officially notified me. The last time I worked with Charmaine, it seems to be 'Bet Hur', which was five or six years ago. Would be very happy if it is really me filming it because acting with Charmaine is a very enjoyable thing. Hope that it'll be me filming it!"
