TVB's Chief Creative Officer Wong Cho Lam was originally returning to TVB to film an ancient comedy in April, but it is known that, because he has to assist Deputy General Manager Eric Tsang in completing the reform of variety programmes, he has too many things to attend to simultaneously for the time being, so he has already officially pulled out. In an interview with on.cc, he said, "Rather busy with the variety show side for the time being. Want to concentrate on assisting [Eric] to deal with the variety show work first. (Have you come up with programme ideas yet?) [Eric] and I are doing our jobs. Keeping everyone guessing first".
The leads in the series, such as Sisley Choi, Jeannie Chan, et al., have not received the news yet. Sisley said, "I indeed did not hear about it. Just passively waiting for news". Asked whether she would feel disappointed to not be able to work with Cho Lam, she said, "If he is really not filming it, he would definitely have a better arrangement in his plan. I am also waiting for the company's arrangement. Any arrangement is also good". Jeannie expressed, "I only know the series title, who the producer is, and when shooting takes place; however, the shifting of actors is a common thing. It has always been decided before there is a meeting, so I don't know anything, but I am also really looking forward to this series. For one, I have not filmed in ancient costume before, and two, I really like filming comedies. Also very excited!"
