Every year, TVB tries to promote a set of new generation young artistes to rise to the status of siu sangs and fa dans. In 1995, TVB tried to promote these ten artistes.
1995 New Five Tigers: Louis Koo, Leo Ku, Hawick Lau, Carlo Ng, and Ho Yuen Hang.
1995 New Five Beauties: Gigi Fu, Jojo Cho, Joyce Chan, Wallis Pang, and Eileen Yeow.
oo i remember people talking about them before...like i knew hawick Lau, Louis Koo and Joyce Chen use to be like..the new generation of upcoming "fa dans and siu sungs"...but it looks like only Louise Koo really made it ...Hawick now works for ATV so he's probably got better status..
ReplyDeletei think thats why in Virtues of Harmony, they always said Joyce Chan's role was someone who was once highly promoted..but never made it "red"...
is Gigi big? i know Eileen and Joyce only play like minor roles ..(i think Joyce left to go with ATV?) and Wallis Pang..i only saw her in A Kindred Spirit..
Is Hawick still in ATV?
ReplyDeleteGigi Fu was very heavily promoted back then. She was always second female lead and first female lead in "Weapons of Power" and "Deadly Protection."
Joyce Chan is studying acting in Beijing, but she did film a series for ATV during her break.
As for Wallis, she left TVB in 1999-2000 and filmed three series with ATV. However, of the three, I only saw "Project Ji Xiang" also starring: Kenneth Chan, Joey Meng, Berg Ng, Elaine Kong, etc.
i don't know..i just did some search..and at the moment it seems like Hawick is still with aTV..and right now he's filming some china stuff...
ReplyDeletenot sure if he'll return to TVB...
There might be a chance that he does come back because Lau Dan is still in TVB. Ha ha...
ReplyDeleteI wish Hawick would come back to TVB, I always liked him. It doesn't even seem like ATV produces much nowadays and since his father's still with TVB..
ReplyDeleteFrom those ten, it seems like only Louis and Leo made it really big in movies and music respectively.
